Chronic Pain

Is Pain Useful?

Yes.  The ability to experience pain is critical for survival. Without pain, we might seriously hurt ourselves yet not knowing it. Or we might not realize that we have a medical problem that needs treatment. So pain is our danger signal that calls for our attention. That being the case, what do we make out of it when we take “pain killers” to cut off this signal? Is that the right thing to do?

However, chronic pain serves no biological purpose. It tends to go on and on and it is no longer a pain that brings any good for us. In fact, it becomes a serious problem to those who suffer from it.

Feeling of Pain

Pain may be sharp or dull. It may come and go, or it may remain constant. We may feel pain in one area of our body, or we may feel pain all over the body. The Chinese is elaborate when describing pain. They say pain can be: aching pain, distending pain, dull pain, empty pain, cold pain, gripping pain, heavy pain, pulling pain, scorching pain, scurrying pain, and  stabbing pain.

Chronic pain may be due to an ongoing cause, such as cancer or arthritis. Sometimes the cause is unknown with no apparent cause.

Process of Pain

Pain is a feeling triggered in the nervous system. There are four basic steps involved:

1. Transduction – when a certain “noxious stimulus” in a particular part of the body causes the release of chemicals that essentially turn on nerve cells.

2. Transmission – the pain signal is sent to the brain through a number of relay stations in which the signal jumps between the nerve cells in the spinal cord and finally reach the thalamus in the brain.

3. Perception – the brain registers and interprets the pain.

4. Modulation – the brain acts to change the body’s response to pain.

Incidence of Pain

In the US, pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined (1).

Condition

Number of sufferers

Chronic Pain 116 million people
Diabetes 25.8 million people
Coronary Heart Disease (heart attack and chest pain) 16.3 million people
Stroke 7.0 million people
Cancer 11.7 million people

The most commonly-reported pain conditions are lower back pain (27%), followed by severe headache or migraine pain (15%), neck pain (15%) and facial ache or pain (4%).

An article in the Wall Street Journal of 11 May 2010 said, “Some 76.5 million Americans, or about 26% of all adults, suffer from chronic pain, generally defined as any pain that lasts more than six months … the conditions can be as debilitating as many severe diseases, leaving the patient exhausted and unable to carry on with many everyday activities. Unless you live with chronic pain, you can’t imagine how it feels.

Without adequate treatment, this pain and suffering can be expected to continue throughout life (2).

According to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, chronic pain affects about 30 per cent of the adult Norwegian population. The most common chronic pain conditions  are back and neck pain and pain of unknown origin. Other chronic pain conditions include headaches, pains from injuries and surgery, pain associated with cardiovascular disease and with neurological disorders (3).

Prevalence of pain increases with age, and women are more susceptible than men.

Treatment of Chronic Pain

Treating chronic pain be challenging. Often the reason for the pain is not clear. And it may take several types or combinations of treatments before relief is found (4).

Dr. Edward Pullen wrote, “Treatment of chronic pain is the scenario that puts me and every practicing primary care physician in a no-win situation regularly (5).

Science Daily of 5 June 2008 (6) reported that while various approaches and combinations of therapies to treat pain have advantages and disadvantages, researchers don’t yet know how to determine which is best for individual patients. Among the approaches to pain management studied were those relying on the prescription of opioids (drugs such as morphine), surgery, and alternative medicine (acupuncture, herbal remedies). Matthew J. Bair, assistant professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine said, “We have found that there are huge gaps in our knowledge base. For example, none of the opioid research trials lasted longer than four months, a small fraction of the time during which many chronic sufferers typically experience pain and are prescribed this potent class of medication”. Many physicians have not been well trained in pain management.

Dennis C. Turk, MD, and colleagues from the University of Washington in Seattle said, “Treatment of chronic pain today remains strikingly inadequate …for all the treatment modalities surveyed, only about half of treated patients had a response — and the reduction in pain was only about 30%” (7).

In Norway the most common method of managing chronic pain is to use painkillers or analgesic drugs. Both opioids (morphine-like) and paracetamol /acetaminophen (Panadol-like) and NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) are used. In 2010, around 1 million people are prescribed these drugs (3).

Many analgesics are effective for a short time period only. And they carry a risk of habituation and dependency with prolonged use. Some painkillers can cause side effects when used over time. NSAIDs can cause bleeding / stomach ulcers and medication-induced headache (3).

Multidisciplinary Pain Management

Straightforward “single mode” pain treatment usually results in short-term relief at best (8).

Multidisciplinary Pain Management is the gold standard when it comes to helping people with chronic pain recover their lives (9). Chronic pains management should take into consideration a broad range of physical, social, psychological, and behavioral issues. Medications, acupuncture, local electrical stimulation, brain stimulation, surgery, psychotherapy, relaxation, biofeedback, and behavior modification may need to be employed to treat chronic pain.

Trigger Finger Resolved After Five Sessions of e-Therapy

What is trigger finger?  Trigger finger, trigger thumb, or trigger digit (medically known as stenosing tenosynovitis) is a problem of your finger or thumb getting stuck in a bent position and to straighten it you have to snap or push it up – like pulling and releasing a trigger of a gun. If trigger finger is severe, your finger may become locked in a bent position and is unable to straighten.

Symptoms: One of the first symptoms may be soreness or swelling at the finger or thumb.  The most common symptom is a painful clicking or snapping when bending or straightening your finger. Trigger finger is more common in women than in men and tends to occur most frequently in people who are between 40 and 60 years of age.

Cause: It may be caused by highly repetitive or forceful use of the finger and thumb. The problem arises due to the inflammation of the tendon. Medical conditions like arthritis and diabetes may also give rise to this problem.

Medical treatment: The doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen or naproxen or may give you steroid injection. If your condition does not respond to these treatments, surgery may be recommended.

Case Presentation:  Yoke is a 61-year-old female from Kuala Lumpur. She had a problem of trigger finger over the past seven to eight years ago. About three years ago she underwent an operation to correct the problem. The surgery helped her for some months but the problem recurred after that. Yoke came to see us on 31 October 2011. She underwent five sessions of e-therapy and her problem was resolved.

Listen to our conversation.

Gist of our conversation:

Session 1 – Detox #2: She had good sleep. The tightness of her fingers had loosen up.

Session 2 – Detox # 3: Her sleep was not good. The tightness in fingers had reduced.

Session 3 – Trigger Finger #127: She had less sound sleep. The tightness of her fingers was reduced further. Left hand fingers had returned to normal.

Session 4 – Trigger Finger #127: The problems in both hands were almost resolved. Only one finger in her right hand was still tight.

Session 5 – Rigger Finger #127:  All problems resolved. The “stubborn” finger of her right hand could be straightened without any more pain. She could now open up both hands showing the palms fully.

My Own Experience with Trigger Finger and Trigger Thumb

Over the years, I did suffer from trigger finger.  In the middle of the night, unintentionally one finger was bent and snapped closed. It would not straighten up. I was awakened by this. I had to massage the base of the finger and then push up the bent finger. Sometimes it worked but sometime it did not because it needed more massaging. The problem persisted for some weeks.  I did not do anything but learnt how to live with it. Fortunately the problem went away by itself. It comes back again once a while.

My problem became serious sometime in August when we were about to go to USA visiting our children. My thumb became swollen and could not bend. And when it was bent I could not straighten it. Of course it was painful and I had to massage it. Massaging helped a bit but did not cure it. I realized that the cause of this “bad” thumb was due to the over use of my thumb – for years I have been using my right thumb to pry open the lid of the herbal containers in our centre. During August I over used my thumb because I needed to prepare many herbal teas before going for our holiday. Now, I learn not to use my thumb any more for this. Instead,  I use the fingers of my right hand to open the container.

During our stay in the US for three weeks, I had to endure the pain and discomfort of a trigger thumb. On certain days the thumb became more swollen – probably due to increased inflammation after eating certain food.

When I came back from the US, I started to read about trigger finger. I wrote Program #127 (Trigger Finger) for my e-machine and began to use it. After a week, the problem was resolved. Based on this experience, with much confidence, I was able to help the above lady.

Sleeplessness, Body Aches and Dizziness Resolved After Four Days of e-Therapy

Jee is a 81-year-old female from Kuala Lumpur. She came to seek our help on 30 October 2011 and stayed for four days in Penang specifically to do the e-Therapy.  Below is our video recording of how she benefited from our therapy.

Gist of our conversation:

Her problems:

  1. She had difficulty sleeping for more than ten years. She would go to bed and fall asleep for one or two hours then remained awake for the rest of the night.
  2. Her whole body ached – the joints, shoulder blade, lower back, etc. These are also long standing problems. We suspected it could also be due to arthritis. We advised her not to take tomato, potato and brinjal (besides capsicum). All these plants belong to the Nightshade (or Solanaceae) family and are said to be not good for people with arthritis. Coincidently these are the vegetables Jee liked to eat very much.
  3. She has dizziness, a problem that started some twenty plus years ago.  This is indeed a serious problem for her.
  4. Skin itch is also a twenty-plus-years-problem.  Her doctor would give her some medications. They worked for a while but the problem  kept recurring.

Day 1 after Detox #1

  1. She slept like a log.
  2. Pains were less.
  3. There were no side effects of the e-Therapy at all.

Day 2 after Detox #3

  1. She had good sleep.
  2. Body aches were reduced.
  3. Dizziness also reduced.

Day 3 after Arthritis # 60

  1. She had good long sleep.
  2. Joint pains and shoulder pains  were gone.
  3. In general, her whole body pains were reduced by more than 50 percent.

Day 4 after Joint Pain #69

  1. She had good sleep.
  2. All pains were gone.
  3. No more dizziness.

Her problems were resolved. She was happy.  Jee said, It is worth my trip to Penang.

Lymphoma: Herbs and e-Therapy Brought Her Back to Good Life Again After Eight Cycles of Chemo

Anne (M965, not real name), from Indonesia, was 52-years old when she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She underwent 8 cycles of chemotherapy in a hospital in Jakarta. Anne suffered severe side effects, such as:

  1. Heart palpitation
  2. Loss of ability to produce sweat
  3. Weak leg – feeling unstable when walking
  4. Fatigue
  5. Shortness of breath
  6. Hardened abdominal muscle
  7. Ringing in the ear

All treatments were completed in August 2010. A repeat CT scan on 20 November showed no more ascites, but the lymphoma had not totally disappeared. Soon afterwards, Anne suffered swelling of the left side of her face around the jaw. A biopsy was performed. The report on 6 January 2011 indicated recurrence of the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

CA Care Therapy

Anne came to see us for the first time on 29 April 2011. After about two months on the herbs, Anne and her husband came back to see us again of 1 July 2011. She benefited from the herbs. During this second visit, Anne underwent a week of e-Therapy in addition to taking the herbs. Her health improved further.

Gist of her story:

  • Felt much better after two months on the herbs. More energy, walk with more stability, better appetite, slept better – could turn sideways, right or left. Able to bend my knees – before to do so was painful.
  • Heart palpitation still persists. Had eight cycles of chemo. Before chemo no such problem.
  • Felt recurrence of lumps in my body and the lump on my cheek seemed to grow bigger. I also have fevers at times.
  • Doctor asked to undergo radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I declined.
  • Came to CA Care Penang for the second time after two months.

Gist of her response to the e-Therapy:

  • The first session of the Therapy done on Friday night. After the Therapy stomach churned for a while, until she fell asleep. Problem gone the next morning. Passed out a lot of urine. Beside these there were no other side effects. Able to sleep better than before. Woke up with more energy. Was able to go to the shopping mall the whole of Saturday. Lump on the cheek felt less tight.
  • The second session of the Therapy done on Sunday night. Woke up the next morning – I felt more fresh. Over all felt much better. On a scale of 10, condition improved to 8. Before the Therapy it was at 3 or 4.
  • The third session of the Therapy was done on Monday morning. The fullness feeling of the abdomen was gone. This feeling arose after chemotherapy. No such problem before chemo. Pain in both sides of temple improved by 50 percent. Slept soundly, unable to sleep well before this . Bowel movements better. No more pain when sweating.  Breathing improved. Tense or hardened stomach muscle eased and able to pinch the stomach now.

AcuGraph Study

The AcuGraph reading during the first visit, on 29 April 2011 is a below. The picture showed many imbalances.

On 8 July 2011, the AcuGraph reading showed tremendous improvements. This was after undergoing a week of the e-Therapy. Anne was ready to go home after this.

Sleeping Difficulty Resolved After e-Therapy

Ron is a 21-year-old male from Medan, Indonesia. A year ago he met with a motor car accident. While driving one night, he and his four friends drove off the road and fell into a 20-metre-deep ravine. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.

Ron came to CA Care on 31 March 2011. He presented with two problems:

  • Inability to have a good sleep at night. He wakes up two to three times each night for no apparent reason. For the night he sleeps a total of only about five hours.
  • He suffers from pains in the lumbar region and both sides of his shoulder blades.

We suggested that Ron try our e-Therapy. He received a total of three treatments:

Treatment / Duration Response
Day 1: Detox # 2 – for 34 minutes After receiving this therapy, he was able to sleep for eight hours without having to wake up. He felt fresh the next morning.
Day 2: Detox #3 – for 51 minutes Same as the first day. Uninterrupted sleep for eight hours. Felt fresh the next morning.
Day 3: Lumbago # 98 – for 30 minutes No more pain in the lumbar region.

Below is our video conversation recorded over the three-day period.

Comments

Ron is not the only person who slept well after the e-Therapy. There are many others before him who reported similar results. I have been using the therapy for more than a year now. After the 51-minute Detox program I experienced deep, good sleep. The benefit of e-Therapy in promoting good sleep is without doubt.

The most important question to ask is: Does e-Therapy produce any adverse side effects? This is the first question we always ask of every person who undergoes the e-Therapy at our centre –  Do you encounter any problem after receiving the therapy? No one has so far encountered any adverse reaction, provided of course they follow our instruction to drink plenty of water after the treatment.

As said earlier, I have been using the Detox program for more than a year and I too did not suffer any adverse side effects. In fact one of the positive side effects is that my hair has turned darker from the usual silvery gray!

Using the e-Therapy is cheap and does not come with adverse side effects like the sleeping pills.

Lower Back Pain Resolved After e-Therapy

Ron is a 21-year-old male from Medan, Indonesia. A year ago he met with a motor car accident. While driving his car at night with four friends he drove off the road and fell into a 20-metre-deep ravine. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. Since then he suffer pains in his lower back and on both sides of his shoulder blades.

Ron came to CA Care on 31 March 2011. He accompanied his father who had lung cancer. While at our centre, we suggested that Ron try our e-Therapy. He received a total of three treatments as below:

Treatment / Duration Response
Day 1: Detox # 2 – for 34 minutes After receiving this therapy, he was able to sleep for eight hours without having to wake up. He felt fresh the next morning.
Day 2: Detox #3 – for 51 minutes Same as the first day. Uninterrupted sleep for eight hours. Felt fresh the next morning.
Day 3: Lumbago # 98 – for 30 minutes No more pain in the lumbar region.

Below is our video conversation recorded over the three-day period.

My Own Personal Experience With Lower Back Pain

I must say I am an “expert” in figuring what to do when you have lower back pain. When I was in my mid-40s (i.e. about two and a half decades ago) I had my first episode of lower back pain. My daughter came running to me one morning to say good bye before I were to go off to work. I picked her up and sprained my back very badly. I was in severe pain and was unable to move. I summoned an ambulance to bring me to a nearby hospital. I was hospitalized for a few days. But the doctor did virtually nothing. Worse still, I had to sleep on a soft hospital bed that aggravated my backache. Of course with regular painkiller intake, my problem improved. I was discharged from the hospital but was not totally “cured”. My feet felt numb and I could not feel the carpet under my feet  when I walked over it.  It was then that I learned that modern medicine could not effectively handle the problem of lower back pain. Painkiller, muscle relaxants, steroids, etc. are not the answers. On hindsight, I must say I was lucky that the doctor did not do anything. Had he suggested surgery, I would have agreed to it!

I started to learn tai qi because gentle exercise is supposed to help. But every time I bent down, I felt the pulling pain of my stomach and back muscles. Anyway, I had to learn to live with this discomfort. After all, the doctor had done his best and at that time I knew nothing about alternative medicine. I was, like most English-educated people, an ardent believer of modern, scientific medicine.  Remember, I was then an academic and a scientist in a science university. Something as “hocus pocus” as alternative medicine was never my cup of tea.

Living a life with back pain was no fun – rather frustrating! I was introduced to a Chinesesinseh who put some acupuncture needles into me. He also massaged my strained back. The massage caused such severe pain that even my urine would leak out! But I was assured that this was the way it is – fight pain with pain! All said, this Chinese sinseh’s method did not help me.

Some months later, my wife and I attended a talk by a direct selling agency. This meeting was held in a big hall where many hundreds of people attended.  The speaker talked about a certain bio-frequency lamp invented by someone in China. It was supposed to “cure” various ailments, including lower back pain, slipped disc, etc. This lamp was priced at over RM 3,000 each. I bought the lamp and used it diligently. Within a week my condition improved.

With such positive effects, I started to share the lamp with people who needed help with back pain. One good case to relate is about the mother of one of my students. She was scheduled to have an operation for her back pain. I advised her to defer the surgery and use the lamp instead. She was “cured” and did not need any more surgery.

There was a man in a small town near Ipoh, Perak. He developed a backache wine which was very effective. A bottle sold for RM 150.00. When I felt my back aching, I just need to take a tablespoon of the wine mixed with plain water. The problem would go away. Knowing that this “wine” is so important to me and people like me, I offered to “buy” the formula of the medication. I was told through the relative of the wine man that he agreed to my proposal. Unfortunately the man died just as the deal was about to go through! After the man died, the son claimed that the family had burnt his father’s formula!  The world has lost yet another great potential contribution!

From the wine, I turned to a chiropractor for help. But with the “sound” of the joints and bone “cracking” when the chiropractor turned and twisted the limbs, the treatment seemed scary.  But the chiropractor that I went to was good. I obtained immediately relief after his treatment.  I visited him a few times over a period of years.

There does not seem to be a permanent cure for lower back pain.  The problem keeps recurring.  Sitting on the “wrong” chair or sleeping on the “wrong” bed brings back the problem almost immediately. Picking up some heavy books or carrying a heavy bag while on a tour can also invite the problem. So, I have learned to live with the problem and try to avoid the triggers. Unfortunately, I still do suffer from lower back pain off and on up to this day. Even sitting too long in front of the computer plus “bad” sitting posture can cause severe back pain. I just suffered another episode of back pain about a week ago. I did the e-Therapy and used the Pain Solution which I had over time developed for this problem.

Since early 2010, I used the e-Therapy. I find it helps me tremendously. I do not need to go to the chiropractor or drink the backache wine any more.  I have learned to help myself just as in the case of Ron documented here.

Obesity: Herbs and e-Therapy Made Her Happier and Healthier

GS is thirty-three years old.  She had difficulties in sleeping and breathing. To us, she looked over-sized. We offered to help her. We sat down to discuss her problems in greater details, after which GS underwent the e-Therapy, starting off with Detox #1 and eventually Detox #3 and Obesity #17, daily.

  8. She climbed a flight of stair without any problem – no more breathlessness.
  9. On the third day after the e-Therapy she did not feel hungry. The taste of food had changed. In spite of not eating she did not feel hungry.
  10. Within four days on herbs and e-Therapy it seemed all the problems started to melt away.

3.    She Lost 4.4 kg After Two Weeks

Summary of our conversation:

  1. After about a total of 14 days on the herbs and e-Therapy, she lost 4.4 kg.

  5. She feels thirsty when doing the e-Therapy but there are not adverse side effects.

Kidney Pain Gone After e-Therapy and Herbs

TS (H570) is a 53-year-old male from Singapore. He had been having severe pain in the back since the past three years. But he did not seek any medical treatment.

TS came to seek our help on 1 April 2011. Upon reviewing his CT scan, we suggested removal of his left kidney. But before taking on the surgery we suggested that TS do a PET scan first. This is to rule out any metastasis, i.e., “cancer” spreading to other parts of the body. If there was metastasis, then a cure from surgery becomes a remote possibility.

During this first visit, TS presented with the following:

  1. Back pain.
  2. Insomnia. He only slept 3 to 4 hours each night and woke up every few hours.
  3. Abdominal wind.
  4. Burning sensation when urinating.
  5. One side of his nose was blocked.

We prescribed Capsule A, deTox + WF tea and Kidney tea.   TS came back five days later. He showed some improvements.  His stomach felt good – there was no more wind. After taking herbs for two days there was no more burning sensation when urinating. Also his nose block was gone.

TS decided to reject our earlier suggestion of a surgery. He would not go for a PET scan either. As far as he was concerned, at this point of time, he only wanted to try our herbal therapy.

On 4 May 2011, TS came back to see us for the third time. His health was normal and he could sleep well and uninterrupted for 5 to 6 hours each night.  Below is the video recording of our conversation that morning.

Gist of Our Conversation

  1. TS has been having this intense pain in his back for the past many years. The pain came on and off. After an attack, the pain could linger on for a few days.
  2. TS consulted the doctor but he was told nothing was wrong with him. It was only after a CT scan was done that a mass was found in his left kidney.
  3. TS underwent a brief e-Therapy (Detox 1, 17 minutes) while at CA Care in Penang. He felt better.
  4. When he went home to Singaore, he did Detox 2 which was for 34 minutes. The pain was gone.
  5. For the past three weeks, he did not suffer any more pain.
  6. A friend’s sister has high blood pressure. TS put her on the Hypertension #68. She felt better after four days.
  7. TS’s maid hurt her finger when closing the door. The pain was intense. TS put her on the Detox. The next morning, there was no more pain.

Update

Ultrasound on 1 September 2011 indicated that the left kidney mass decreased in size from 4.0 x 3.1 x 2.9 (as on 28 June 2011) to 3.3 x 3.0 x 2.9. The right kidney mass – from 1.1 x 1.7 x 1.2 to 5 mm (?)

Cough and Heart Palpitation Resolved after Herbs and e-Therapy

Pat (not real name) is a 55-year old female. She came to us on 1 August 2011 complaining of coughs, discomfort and uneasiness inside her. This is not a cancer case.

Medical history

About two years ago Pat suffered from heart palpitation and coughs. She consulted a heart specialist.  After extensive examination, the doctor could not find anything wrong with her. Pat went to the Penang Botanical Gardens for exercises. The problem resolved after a few months. In May 2011 (about three months ago) Pat had “winds” in her stomach and felt rather bloated. She consulted a gastroenterologist. Again after an extensive examination, the doctor could not find anything wrong with her. She was prescribed a medication. After taking this drug Pat suffered palpitation and coughs again – just like she had some two years ago. Since modern medicine could not help her, Pat turned to a Chinese sinseh (TCM). She took 18 doses of herbs prescribed by the TCM sinseh. These were not effective. It was then that she came to CA Care for help.

Therapy at CA Care

Pat was prescribed Cough No: 5 for her cough with white phlegm. The cough went away after a few days. She underwent detoxification with the e-Therapy. She took herbal tea to normalize her disharmonised liver meridian. Within a week there was no more heart palpitation. Let her tell you her story.

AcuGraph Study

1. On 1 August 2011, her AcuGraph reading showed all the twelve meridians were not balanced. Pat took Cough No: 5 for her cough with white phlegm and at the same time underwent the e-Therapy with Detox program #3.

2. AcuGraph reading on 12 August 2011, after taking A-Liver-2 herbal tea for a week.

Breast Cancer: From Despair to Hope in Five Days

Acknowledgment:  Permission to use this video clip without having to close the patient’s face is granted by the family.

The gist of our conversation:

1.  Breast lump, ten years ago and she did nothing about it.

She discovered a lump in her breast more than   ten years ago but did nothing about it. The lump grew bigger. In 2008, she went to Kuching, Malaysia for a full-body check up. At that time she did not experience any serious discomfort. However, the check up revealed a stage 4 breast cancer since it had probably spread to her bones.

2.  Trips to China to find the cure.

The doctor in Kuching suggested chemotherapy. She refused. The family decided to bring her to China for medical treatment. She received treatments such as chemotherapy, cryoablation and radioactive seeding in the Chinese hospital.

3.  A Minor Fall

In January 2011, she had a minor fall. This cause one of her legs to become swollen. But even before the fall, she always had pains in her legs. She consulted a doctor in Kuching about this problem and was told that nothing was wrong with her leg but she probably had cancer in her colon.

4.  Leg Operation

Since February 2011, she was not unable to walk and remained immobilized at home. One of her leg was in pain and the other was swollen. She was unable to place her feet on the ground and stand up because of pains. She went to Jakarta for further consultation.  Subsequently she underwent a surgery intervention for both of her legs. Two months after the surgery she was able to walk. There were no more pains in the foot when she stepped on the ground. But the pains in the lower parts of her legs persisted.

 5.  Hospitalization – September 2011

In late September 2011, she had pains in her abdomen and was unable to walk again. She had to be hospitalized. The oncologist suggested a PET scan to find out what was wrong with her. The family declined.  By this time she was taking a variety of medications prescribed by the oncologist, bone specialist and neurologist.

6.  CA Care Penang – 9 October 2011

She was wheel chair bound. She had to be carried up into the airplane. She was unable to stand up by herself.  She was unable to sleep and had pains in her legs throughout the day and night.  After listening to her story that 9 October night, we could only say this to her family, I really don’t know what I can do to help you. But I shall try my best. It was indeed a hopeless and helpless case.

After five days on the e-Therapy and herbs, her conditions improved.  The pains in her legs were almost gone. She was able to sleep and above all she was able to stand up by herself with minimal help.

Update:

On 26 October 2011, her daughter-in-law called to say that patient (now at home in Jakarta) is able to walk by herself with the help of a walking stick. On the day when she returned home, she was able to slowly walk into the airplane – no need to be carried into the plane like the week before.

Lung Cancer: Pain and Sleepless Night Resolved after e-Therapy

Sujo (M858) is a 58-year-old male from Indonesia. He was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread to his lungs in August 2010.  He was asked to undergo chemotherapy, which he promptly rejected.

Instead, on 22 October 2010, Sujo came to seek our help. He had no symptoms and was prescribed Capsule A, Lung 1 and 2 teas, Bone Tea and C-tea. After taking these herbs, Suja came back to see us twice and reported that his health had improved. He was able to eat, sleep and walk distance without any problem. His breathlessness had resolved. His bowels movements were good.

Pain After Chinese New Year Dinner

Sujo and his wife told us that on the eve of the Chinese New Year (2011) Sujo took chicken curry (only the gravy not the chicken). Besides that he also ate steam fish with salted beans (tau chiau). Two days later, on the morning of the second day of CNY, he suffered severe pains.  Sujo said: “I am very tolerant to pain. But this pain was so severe that I cried. I have never cried before in my life.” It was a “pulling pain” and he was not able to lie down. He had to sit upright and the pain lasted from 8 to 9 p.m. until 3 a.m.  Then he would fall asleep for about 2 hours. The pains persisted every day.  Sujo took the painkiller, Tramadol 50 mg – once or twice a day. But the medication did not relieve his pains.

Sujo confirmed that before this dinner, he did not have any pain at all. The pains only came after the dinner.

Sujo came to see us on 13 February 2010. He presented with severe pains in the back and shoulder blade. He had partially lost his voice. The past 8 days or so, he was not able to sleep. Seeing  Sujo’s condition, we put him on the e-therapy right away. See below for the amazing results.

Day e-therapy Response
13 February 2010 – night Detox 2  (34 minutes) Next morning, less pain and was able to sleep whole night.
14 February 2010 – morning Detox 3  (51 minutes)Loss of voice  (32 minutes) Next morning, pain reduced. No problem sleeping. Voice returning – louder.
15 February 2010 – morning Intercostal  (24 minutes) Loss of voice  (32 minutes) Lumbago FS  (20 minutes) Next morning. Pain 70% gone. Pain mainly at “Shingle” area suffered since 4 years ago. Voice even louder. No problem with sleep.
16 February 2010 – morning Detox 3   (51 minutes)Shingles  (35 minutes) Next morning. Over all condition better than the previous morning.
17 February 2010 Detox 3  (51 minutes)Shingles  (35 minutes) Sujo is going home to Medan tomorrow morning. He looks good – health restored!

Pain Relieved After e-Therapy

A Week of Amazing Healing: Consciousness and Movements Restored

Suri started the e-Therapy at our centre from Sunday 28 August 2011 – everyday (inclusive of the Raya Hari and Independence Day holidays.) The only thing I can say is, It is most rewarding to see how she benefited from what we do here. It is fun to joke with her and see her infectious smile! An inspiring experience indeed!

Happy Hour at CA Care

  •  When she is not in pain, she is happy. She would tell stories and sing.
  • She is able to react to the environment and respond to our questions, etc.
  • Before the e-Therapy, she was feeling “cold” and could not take to the air-con in the room. After a few days, she was fine – no need thick clothings or a cap to cover her head.
  • Everyday her strength seemed to increase!
  • Each morning her husband shared with us Suri’s dream. One night she dreamt of eating a certain kind of fruit – she couldn’t remember the name. Suri made her sister name all the fruits. At last one name came up, “duku” and yes, that was the fruit that she ate! One night she dreamt of a person wanting to sell her a Mercedes Benz. She did not get to buy the car because her husband woke her up. Then the next night she dreamt of buying an expensive diamond ring.

The following is an interview with her husband on 5 September 2011 – after undergoing 8 cycles of the e-Therapy.

You came to see us on Sunday 28 August 2011. You had to pay over a thousand US dollars for each ticket. And there are three of you. That’s a lot of money. Why did you want to spend that kind of money when at ordinary time it cost only about US$150 to fly return?

Husband: This is because my wife is very important to me. She was in a lot of pain and I didn’t know what to do to help her.  So I have to fly in immediately to see you.

As I told you that night, I cannot guarantee good results but I would do my best to help her. But deep inside me, I felt that I could “win”.

H: Yes, we agreed that we would try.

On Sunday night (28 August 2011) we started the e-Therapy. This is Monday 5 September 2010. That means she had undergone 8 cycles of the therapy. Do you see any difference in her?

H: Wah, tremendous improvements. This morning is the best results I have seen. This morning she can shake her feet. This was what she used to do when she was healthy but since she had cancer she could not do that anymore.

So you really “see” improvements?

H: A lot of improvements. I  have not seen  such great improvements. You see, just now she could stand up by herself – something that she could not do before.

So are you satisfied with the results?

H: Extremely satisfied – very, very satisfied.

When you first came last Sunday, she had a few problems. What were these problems?

H: First, she had severe pains in her head. She is a person who can tolerate pain. And yet I could “see” that she was suffering due to this pain. It is so extraordinarily painful.

Is the pain less now?

H: No more pain – totally gone.

With regards to her movements – when you first came here, could she walk?

H: Wah, when we came last Saturday, we had to use the wheel chair. When we got to the door of the airplane, she switched to a narrowed wheel chair to  go through the aisle.

What happen now?

H: Now, she can walk!

So, are you certain that she has improved?

Yes, now she can take the herbs five times a day without any problem or protest.

What about her mental response? Can she respond to what you say to her?

H: Yes, if she sits quietly, she begins to remember many things.

Before this, can she respond to your questions?

H: Depends. Yesterday she was very, very angry with her sister. She was not allowed to eat “wan tan mee.” So she refused to talk to her and would not answer her. But during ordinary time, she can tell stories, sing and reply to our questions.

Is she aware and sensitive to her surrounding now?

H: Yes. (Note: the first few days at our centre she could not stand the cool air-conditioning of the room. She had to wear a sweater and a cap to cover her head. After a few days she did need these anymore).

Are you happy and satisfied having to go through all the trouble to come here?

H: Extremely satisfied. Let me honestly tell you this. When the Singapore oncologist “surrendered” and would not give her more chemo, I told all my children – “We shall go for herbs and hope that she would not suffer any pain. If she has to die, let her go in peace without any pain”. Pain is terrible. But after two months on your herbs, she started to recover – extraordinary healing indeed. It is a miracle (mujizat). It is Godsend. I did not expect this at all. I have suffered for two and a half years when she was undergoing her medical treatments. Come 9 September 2011 (4 days more!) she would have been on your herbs for four months.

Very good (sigh) I am real happy to be able to see her getting better every day.

H: I am extremely happy.

Four Days of Healing – Movements Restored, Pains Gone and Slept Well

Acknowledgment: Permission to use this video without having to hide her identity is granted by the patient.

This is a bitter-sweet story of Le, a 37-year-old female from Indonesia. She came to us on 14 October 2011 after having been diagnosed with breast cancer that had probably spread to her lungs. She had undergone 106 radiation treatments besides taking a variety of supplements.  She presented with aches and pains throughout her body, especially the joints. Bodily movements were difficult.  She could not sleep well and she had coughs.

After four days here, how do you feel now? Le: Healthier. I feel better.

When you came here last Friday (four days ago), compared to to-day, do you feel you are better? Le: Yes. I can walk faster now. I have more energy. It is like I was before I had cancer. When I came here I was still tired and lethargic. But yesterday I could walk from the apartment to the market. My husband took the wrong turn and we missed the market. We had to walk up and down everywhere. But I was alright. I had no problem walking. And I also walked fast. Before I had to drag my feet when walking and my back was hunched.

What about your sleep? Le: Before I came here, I had to wake up five times a night to urinate. I coughed. So my sleep was not good and disturbed. I often had dreams of my loved ones who had died. They came to invite me to “go home”. After I took the herbs and did the e-Therapy I could sleep well. I had no more dreams.

In terms of bodily movements, are you more agile now? I realized the first day you were here, you had difficulty moving your hands, etc. Le: I am back to being a normal person now. I can do the following (demonstrate all the actions):

  1. Raise my arms up high and straight up.
  2. Put my hands behind my heads to tie my hair. Before when I had long hair my daughter had to tie my hair for me.
  3. I can hold the broom and sweep the floor. I can swing my arms.
  4. I can make my bed and fold the blanket.
  5. I can bend down and touch the floor with my hands.
  6. I can bend my wrists.
  7. I can undress and wear the bra by myself.
  8. I can fold my legs and cut my toe nails.
  9. I can climb in bed right away without any having to slide in slowly.
  10. I can fold my arms and use my little finger to clean my ear.
  11. I can clap my hands – no pain.
  12. I can use my hand to smack the mosquito – no pain. Before it was painful even to touch the skin.
  13. I can snap my fingers and make this clicking sound.
  14. I can grasp something and bend my fingers.
  15. When I breathe deeply, there is no more tightness in my chest.
  16. This morning I walked faster than my husband.

Now you seem to have regained your movements and quality of life. Are you happy? Le: Yes. This is what I have been hoping for. When I was unable to walk I told my pastor that I wanted to die. I have lost all hope. This is because

  • Movements were so difficult.
  • I can’t even scratch my buttock when I felt itchy. My husband had to help me scratch.
  • I could not button my trousers – my husband had to do this for me.

See now, I can twist my body to the right or left without any pain, I can stand on one leg and I can eat rice with my hand.

Now do you still want to die? Le: No, no more.

Okay, four days on the Therapy. Did you feel good?  Le: Absolutely good.

Are you confident now? Le: Absolutely confident. When I came here, I knew that this is God’s answer to my prayers.

When you go home, take the herbs as instructed. Then you must take care of your diet as we have taught you. Exercise. Don’t think too much – relax and take it easy. Don’t stress yourself too much. What is important is to try to live a normal life. Le: My facial appearance looks good now. More “glow”.

Okay, I am real happy. Please take care when you are at home. Remember what we have told you. Do not do anything that is not right. And above all, remember that healing takes time. Have patience.

Lung Cancer Pain: Severe chest pain and numbness, Unable to Sleep

Bee (H339) was a 71-year-old female. Sometime in mid-February 2010, she had shortness of breath. Detail examination for about a month at a university hospital did not yield any result. Frustrated the family brought her to another university hospital in Kuala Lumpur. She had fluid in her lungs and this was tapped out. A biopsy on 31 March 2010 confirmed primary carcinoma of the lung. The doctor suggested chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The family declined further medical treatment.

Hopeless and helpless, they sought alternative treatments. Her daughter said: We sought the help of 16 medical and traditional practitioners. After all these, we went into the internet and found CA Care.

Bee and her family came to see us on 16 June 2010. She presented with severe pains in the rib area. She was unable to lie down and sleep. For the past five months she was unable to sleep all night due to pains. Just one treatment with the e-Therapy and herbs, Bee was able to sleep and the pains almost disappeared.

Most Amazing Healing of Cancer Pain

Email 23 June 2010

My mother is doing generally quite good since coming back from Penang. Her appetite is quite ok.  Not really good but is able to eat.  Bowel movements also ok – about once or twice a day.  No diarrhea.  Stool is black in color. She has less coughing and less phlegm now.  The phlegm is white color and only in the morning.  No phlegm at night.  There is a slight pain in the upper stomach whenever she coughs. Generally has no problem sleeping except the need to wake up if there are coughing.

Sometimes she has a little pain at the back below the shoulder.  No more tightness in the chest.  Breathing is normal. Occasionally she has stomach wind and feels nauseous.  Is this normal?  Does it caused by herbal which is taken before meal? She felt very tired after going through 2 days of e-Therapy.  Is this normal?  She said she felt better without the therapy. Please advice.

Email on 27 June 2010

Overall her condition is getting better.  Less coughing, less phlegm, more energetic, and look more lively. The problem is she still has pain in the rib area early in the morning.  Around 4 a.m. to 5 a.m.  Another thing is she can’t walk far.  Walking just about 50 meters make her exhausted.  Is this normal?

Email on 2 August 2010

Basically she is getting better.  Except occasionally stomach winds and pain in the shoulder and tightness in the rib area.

Email on 9 December 2010

For your information, our mother passed away peacefully without pain on 6th of December 2010.  Since she was confirmed as lung cancer patient till the last day of her life, she was able to manage the pain very well.  Even Dr. F was shocked at how she managed to go on without pain killer.  She did not even have problem with coughing.  We would like to express our deepest gratitude to you for giving her the “quality of life”.  She was able to talk and smile happily till the last day of her life.

From all of us, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

June was hospitalized after taking nasi briyani. The e-therapy helped her again!

June vomited and had to be hospitalized. Two hours before June vomited she was in perfect health. Her problem started after she ate a packet of nasi briyani. Intially she was told by her doctors that her problem was due to urine infection. Later the doctors said that based on their experiences this is a recurrence of her cancer. June was asked to undergo chemotherapy immediately. She declined. After ten days in the hospital, June was discharged and she immediately came to Penang and was started on the e-therapy. She regained her health again.

June Regained Her Health After 8 Days on e-Therapy

June (not real name) was 42-years old when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December 2006. June underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy and at the same time was started on CA Care herbs. Unlike others, she did not suffer from the side effects of chemo.

Unfortunately in December 2008, a scan showed tumour recurrence, probably a splenic metastasis. June was asked to undergo more chemo. In no uncertain term her doctor told her: If you do not do chemotherapy, within the next 3 months your condition would deteriorate to the extent that I would not be able to help you anymore. You are taking your life for granted. June adamantly declined chemo and stayed on with the herbs. Three months passed, June was well.

June was well until about March 2010 when she started to develop problems. I requested June’s husband to bring her to Penang for a week to undergo our e-Therapy. So June came on 8 March 2010 and the first e-Therapy was started right away. At the time I was rather concerned if June was able to even up walk up to my study upstairs. Her health condition was not good. After three days her facial expression changed from pale to bright and after 8 days she was as fit as a fiddle. It was most satisfying to see the brilliant smile in her face. She was so full of energy.

June went home to Kuala Lumpur and the next day went around shopping!

The following are excerpts of our video conversation.

Chris: Before you came to see us … that was last Monday (8 March2010) and this is now Wednesday (17 March) … compared to now, is there any difference in your health?

J: Yes, I feel very normal now.

C: When you came, how did you feel?

J: Short of breath, very tired, very sickly, stomachaches and pains, could not walk properly, very bad appetite, difficult to sleep.

C: Okay, all these … like appetite, how is it now?

J: Very good.

C: Can you sleep well?

J: Yes.

C: Walking?

J: No problem.

C: You said you were tired?

J: This morning not too bad but yesterday after 3 p.m. onwards … flat (Note: this was due to the side effects of the e- therapy).

C: You believe that (the therapy) helped you?

J: Yes.

C: You feel much better now?

J: Yes, much better.

C: You inspire me … honestly, I don’t believe in this (therapy) … well, but when I look at your face, I know that it was good.

Side effects of e-Therapy

C: Now… flat (out tired) and aches in the bones?

J: This was the second time … after the treatment. Yesterday was worse than the first time.

Husband: Yesterday she had fevers.

A Chat with her Husband

H: I came on Monday. Today it is Tuesday – 8 days of therapy. (Before she came here) on Saturday and Sunday, she slept the whole day. She did not have any strength at all. Then there was no appetite.

C: That was when you were in KL (Kuala Lumpur)?

H: Yes, on Monday night was the treatment. Tuesday there were some pains and after that on Wednesday there were no more pains.

C: You feel that it (the therapy) helps her?

H: It helps. No more pains and now she can eat a lot.

C: I do not believe – but then I become a believer. It is better that way than to believe first and start to bluff people that it works. You have to start from not believing anything, see for yourself … then believe!

Seven-year-old Stroke Disabilities Vanished Within Three Days

Pak Nias (not real name) is a 55-year-old man from Nias Island, situated about 125 km west of Sumatra on the Indian Ocean. Some years ago the tsunami swept through this island and caused much destruction. As a result of an earthquake that followed, Pak Nias’ house collapsed and he and his wife were trapped in the rubbles. Their bones were broken and they were excavated to a hospital in Medan for emergency treatment.

Before this tsunami, Pak Nias had a stroke in October 2002, and arising from that he suffered the following disabilities:

  • His arms and legs were always in constant pains and numbness. Every day, he felt the pulling pains at his limbs.
  • He could barely lift his two hands above shoulder level. So putting on his shirt was a painful experience every morning.
  • When he walked, he had to take a step at a time and after 10 metres or so, he had to sit down because his legs were painful. He felt heavy and his gait was stiff when walking.
  • When he was in Penang he had to have a massage from a professional masseur. After the massage he felt good for a day but the problem recurred after that.
  • His fingers were stiff and it was painful to bend them. He felt pains when he   touched his fingers. He was unable to even button his shirt. He could not hold a pen with his right hand and had to use his thumbprint for documentation.
  • His right hand had been weak and he could not use this right hand for years.

Pak Nias had seen five neurologists in the private hospitals of Penang. They prescribed him medications but these were not effective at all. He was told: These problems are the results of your earlier stroke. So for the past seven years plus Pak Nias had to endure these sufferings with nowhere else to turn to for help.

Pak Nias came to CA Care on 15 March 2010 with his wife (who had breast cancer and has been our patient since February 2009). Pak Nias told us about his sufferings. I suggested that he try the CA Care e-Therapy. Within two days he experienced amazing results and on the third day he related his healing experiences. Listen to what he said in this video clip.

For your study, watch carefully his hand movements one day before the e-Therapy and two and three days after the therapy.

For those who don’t understand Bahasa Indonesia, the following are the highlights of what he said.

  • I have no more difficulty bending my fingers and I can touch my hands and fingers without any more pains.
  • I can now lift my arms above my head easily, without problem or pain.
  • The pains and numbness in my limbs have improved tremendously.
  • Yesterday my wife and I went to the shopping mall and we walked from the ground floor up to the third floor, round and round non-stop without any difficulty. I didn’t have to sit down anymore. My legs were strong, unlike before.
  • I can now walk briskly, not step by step anymore.
  • I can button my shirt now.
  • Yesterday without knowing, I realized that I was using my right hand! Something I was unable to do for years before.
  • I feel much better – lebih enak.

Side effects

  • Pak Nias felt sleepy during the e-Therapy but after that he could sleep well –  much better at night without waking up.
  • He passed out a lot of urine and stools, like never before.

Conclusion: Is Pak Nias’ health restored after the e-Therapy? Of course! He is very much better than before! I want to believe that he is telling an honest and truthful story about himself. He could not be making up this story.

Comments: This is an unbelievable story – but at CA Care unbelievable healings do happen very often.  Pak Nias’ wife said this: Every time my husband comes to Penang with me, he always prayed that God will show him a way to someone who can help him with his disabilities. Indeed, 15 February 2010 was the day of blessing for Pak Nias. It is our privilege to be His agent of blessing.

I told Pak Nias: But you must also know that it is you and your attitude that makes this possible. I offered to help you with the e-Therapy. You readily agreed and wanted to try. What if you were to say: No thanks! This miracle could not have happened. So in a way you helped make it happen.

Pancreatic Cancer: Severe Itch Disappeared and Health Improved After Herbs and the e-Therapy

Bak (M952) is a 56-year-old male from Indonesia. Sometime in November 2010, he complained of itchiness but he did nothing about it. On 8 April 2011, he came to Penang for further checkup and was told that he had cancer of the pancreas.

Bak was asked to undergo an operation for his pancreatic cancer. He declined, but he opted for ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). This is a specialized technique to clear off the bile duct obstruction. Three plastic stents (tube) were installed to help with the flow of the bile.

After this procedure, Bak was asked to undergo chemotherapy. He refused. Instead, on 10 April 2011, he came to seek our help. He presented with the following:

  • Severe itch throughout the whole body
  • No appetite
  • Fevers, unable to sleep
  • Diarrhoea
  • Yellow urine

We had no choice but to put Bak on the e-Therapy hoping to help him with the itchiness. After one session of the e-Therapy, the itchiness was reduced. After two sessions, his itch was reduced by 50 percent. After four sessions of the e-Therapy his itch was totally gone. Then he went home to Aceh.

On 5 October 2011, Bak showed up at our centre again. This time he came specifically for the e-Therapy. Bak said that since taking the herbs in April 2011, his health had improved. He felt more comfortable, his sleep was better and he felt more energetic. He started to itch again but this was not as serious as before the e-Therapy. Before the e-Therapy the whole body was itchy and he had to scratch until the skin bled. Now the itch was confined to his elbows and feet only.

Bak underwent the e-Therapy again from 5 October to 11 October 2011. After two sessions, the itch reduced by about 50 percent. By 10 October 2011, six days on the e-Therapy, the itch was almost totally gone. What remained were the itches on his finger tips.

Liver Cancer: Severe Itch Gone

Bob was a 57-year-old male. In early 2010 he was diagnosed with liver terminal liver cancer. The doctor asked Bob to go home and wait for his time. This was no treatment for him and he was given a referral letter to the Hospice.

Bob came to CA Care on 7 May 2010 and presented with difficulty breathing and shortness of breath, itchiness throughout the whole body and this made sleeping difficult.

He was prescribed: Capsule A & B, Lung 1 and Lung 2, Liver 1 and Liver 2 teas. A week on the herbs, Bob’s health improved. He was able to sleep well. He had more energy and his breathing had improved. On 30 May 2010, Bob said his appetite was extremely good. But he was unable to sleep because of severe itchiness. We put Bob on the e-therapy. After a day on the e-therapy, his itchiness subsided and he was able to sleep well. After four days, the itchiness disappeared.
